Lecture Week 2..

This lecture raised the idea of both designing a problem, and then finding the best solution for it.

The decision stuck in my mind whether the future of Brisbane will be a decline of civilisation or an improvement.

The 'Robots of Brixton' video was done amazingly and raised a really interesting philosophical point that history does tend to repeat itself. There is a never ending cycle of both human behaviour but also environmental behaviour. The cycles of heat and cold and drought and prosperity we experience are all quite cyclical. That could apply really interestingly to the future I envisage for Brisbane.

Yasu is very interested with where the technology goes but I always find myself more interested with the lifestyles and environment. We are overusing what we have and i have my doubts about what we'll have left in 100 years time.

I am immediately concerned with how I'm going to communicate this future and these 'scenes' of my 'architecture fiction'.

I find myself most interested in the Urban theme and the idea of what the CBD will become with the 'what if' cars weren't really in the CBD. The ideas of more green corridors and the interesting things you can do with parking buildings popped into my head. Or maybe the Regional theme and the possibilities of self sufficiency, closed loop designs and autonomous communities.
